Finally a high performance lithium mower
Use to mow 1/4 lot with 8000 ft2 of grass. Owned a top of the line Toro for 2 years. Used a Newton 6.2 for the last 5. When my batteries on the Newton died, I began looking for a lighter mower (I am 54 with a mild heart condition). For a little over the cost of 2 Neuton batteries I purchased the twin force from CPO. This reconditioned mower looked brand new and the change from the Neuton was dramatic. The Neuton at 70lbs. with battery has a more substantial contruction than the Greenworks but only in the handle and controls The deck and wheels of the Greenworks is made just as well and the overall design is better than the Neuton. The Greenworks is superior in cut, ease of pushing, bagging, mulching(the only cordless I tried that actually mulches-better than my Torro or Honda) ability to handle high grass and weeds(it ajusts it's speed automatically as needed) and at under 45 pounds with both batteries installed(it can be run with just one) I have never had an easier time cutting my yard. Even my wife who would not use the neuton will push this one for a while I am able to cut all 8000 ft2 on one charge of the batteries with one indicator light left on the larger battery. For $300 bucks this mower is great I would rate it 4-1/2 stars. It looses 1/2 star because I believe the handle and grip is a little flimsy and the non-adjustable handle is a little low for my height (5'11")

Cuts great easy to use
Took a shot on this mower and am very happy with it, makes a great cut and mulches nice. I had plenty of power to cut all my grass (about .25 of a acre), when it hit higher grass, it sensed that and sped up. It is not self propelled, but is pretty easy to push up a hill on my property. Plus it is pretty quiet. Am happy and surprised with the mower and would buy it again. Only used it twice so far, so can't speak of durability yet, but have seen it rated 4.3 out of 5 stars with 1500+ reviews elsewhere

Outstanding Cordless Lawnmower
I purchased this as a reconditioned mower from CPO, but it looked brand new upon arrival. It was simple and quick to set up in about five minutes. I can compare this mower to the Neuton 6.3, which I have used for four years. The Neuton uses a 36 volt lead acid type battery, and the Neuton 6.3 is noticeably much heavier and more difficult to maneuver in small spaces. Compared to the Neuton, this mower cuts more evenly and adjusts to a higher cut than the Neuton. Neuton is bag capable but functions poorly doing that. Also, with two blades, this mower mulches much better and doesn't clog. It is clearly evident that this mower was carefully thought out, and is a great replacement to the gas powered mower. I've never used more than half the capacity of one of the two provided, comparatively feather weight Lithium Ion batteries. Definitely better than the Neuton from my experience.

one of the best products i have used in
the manual should explain the battery operation better .. it runs on 1 battery when it needs recharging the other battery takes over . battery on the left side of the machine is the one it runs on first, then runs on the right side.

I have had this mower for 2 years. I bought it because I did not want to store gasoline in my garage anymore and Greenworks seemed to have the most outdoor tools to work with one battery line. The mower definitely does not have the power to cut the grass evenly as other reviewers stated and requires multiple passes. This part stinks of course, but since I am not to picky about my lawn, I run one pass and don't mind it. I still think it is worth not having to deal with gas & oil. With the 2ah & 4ah batteries I get 45 min of mowing every time. The quietness is a great bonus too.

Bought this mower because the idea of not having to buy gas or oil again appealed to me. I read the few reviews posted on this site, most approved of the product. The mower is quiet, easy to push and store, starts every time but it has one problem. It does not have the power to lift (suction) grass so it can be cut in one pass. Repeated passes are needed to get an even cut. Also, if you want to "clean up" your lawn of few fallen leaves and small twigs, the lack of suction will not pick them up. Again, repeated passes are needed to achieve this. Only read one review that made reference to this. The extra time it takes to get the same results of a gas powered mower is the downside of this product. Figure on spending twice as long to cut your lawn.

Great alternative to a traditional lawn mower.
Let me first say that this is not necessarily the best lawn mower ever invented. It is mostly plastic and doesn't really feel like a high-quality item. With that said, this mower performs adequately for what it is: a quiet, lightweight, cordless tool. I have owned this mower for over two years and it always works with no real maintenance. I clean it after each use, change the blades annually, and keep the batteries inside the house year-round.

It is true that this mower doesn't cut grass perfectly but, honestly, I don't care. I am not overly concerned about how my lawn looks. It's just grass.

I do have an annoying hill and a gas mower would constantly stall going in any direction on this hill. The electric lawn mower works on any incline and is much lighter, so it is easier to push up a hill or to maintain on a slanted surface. I also appreciate that this Greenworks Twin Force mower sounds almost like an electric trimmer, so it is not loud at all. No earplugs or headphones needed and you can actually hear someone talking to you while it's running. Another added bonus is that the batteries work with other tools. I also own the string trimmer and the high-power blower- both of which perform even better than the mower.

Overall- is this mower perfect? No. But if you want a lightweight, quiet lawn mower that starts on the first try every time... this is a very good buy.

40v G MAX Cordless Twin force lawn mower
The battery only last 35 minutes and it will take two hours to charge the big battery and another one hour to charge the small one. it took me two days to cut the front and back of my house and the battery doesn't even finish the rear before it died again. I don't see any reason why this product should not last at lease one hour cutting grass. the manufacturer needs to do a better job than this.

Love this lawnmower
Love it. Easy to use. Maybe not as good for a large lawn because batteries would need to be recharged before finishing, but great for small yards. I have enough battery power to do both front and back yards with some to spare. Easy to adjust grass lengths and easy to empty grass bag.

Are the mowers self propelled??
A shopper on Apr 18, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No, Batteries are not yet at the state of development where they would last very long doing the mowing and self propelling. On a flat lawn, the mowers are so light that they do not need self propelling.
The web page contradicts itself regarding the cutting height range of this mower. Please clarify the minimum and maximum height of cut. Thank you.

Can the mower be stored vertically?
Curious mower on Jul 13, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I don't see why not. There is no oil in it to leak out. You would have to rig some kind of mount for it as there isn't a hanging hole or anything.
What can I do if it won't start? Batteries are fully charged and the center connecter fully engaged. I push the button and pull the handle - nothing.
Gary on Jun 4, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Just a couple of thoughts in reply to your question. First, you say that the batteries are fully engaged. If you did not hear a positive "click" when you inserted each battery, they are not properly installed. If you can pull either battery out of its slide receptacle without pressing the grey release lever, it's not locked in place. Slide the battery most of the way out of its track, then slide it back toward the connector with enough authority so that you hear the locking mechanism click into place.
To start the mower, push and hold the safety button down while you pull the handle. When the motors start, release the button.
Hope this helps.
I am considering purchasing the 40V G-MAX Twin Force Mower, however I noticed a claim that the Twin Blades may leave portions of uncut grass (between the blades). Is this common to those who have this mower? This would surely change my decision to purchase this product. THX
Ice on May 8, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The mower cuts evenly and does an excellent job mulching cut grass, even when the grass is tall and thick.
